Healing Forest
Alexandra Bischoff, founder of the Institute Lernhorizonte—a clinic for learning therapy, counseling, training, and supervision—enthusiastically shared her experiences from a certificate course she attended in Korea.
As part of a program organized by Korean author Young Mee Choi to foster emotional sensibility Bischoff participated in sessions held at the tranquil Sejong Healingforest Garden. Under Mrs. Choi’s guidance, she explored the diversity of local plants, their medicinal properties, and their culinary uses.
“Author Choi’s theory, based on the humanities, is beautifully structured, and the practices are truly helpful in everyday life,” she said.
In the second class, Bischoff crafted a mint, honey, and lime lemonade; infused culinary oil with sage and basil; and made flower-based remedies such as marigold petals, mint vinegar, and—her personal highlight—a natural perfume using essential oils like ylang-ylang and mandarin.
The seminar left a profound impact on her, and she expressed a desire to apply its teachings in Germany, particularly for children experiencing learning and performance issues such as anxiety and depression.
“What you feel and experience when creating something beautiful from nature is invigorating. It helps you break free from everyday stress. Nature is full of generous gifts—it’s fulfilling and simply wonderful!”
